Jason Sidwell (BA Hons, MA, ALCM) has been a professional musician for over twenty years. Since 1998 he's been senior music editor for Total Guitar, Guitar Techniques and Guitarist magazines, interviewing numerous musicians and writing/editing several thousand guitar tutorials in all styles. His funk guitar tutorial series ran for three years in Guitar Techniques, often fuelled from his interviews and jams with players like Nile Rodgers, David Williams, Paul Jackson Jr, Hamish Stuart and Lee Ritenour.
In 2011 How To Play Guitar Step By Step - authored by Jason - was published by Dorling Kindersley. His new genre based guitar chord book will be published in winter 2013.
As a performer Jason is a solo guitarist, band guitarist for hire (theatre shows and recording projects), a member of fusion quartet The Bad Hands, and in the jazz pop duo Tracey&Jason; their version of You Only Live Twice had Toto's Steve Lukather say "Love it!" and Radio 2 DJ Mark Radcliffe say "Absolutely wonderful!"
